A method of experiential inquiry into consciousness

Twenty-five years of fieldwork, now applied as clinical and academic work.

I'm Guido Freddi, an anthropologist, AIGAE-certified environmental hiking guide, and the creator of Mindtrek — a method of experiential inquiry into consciousness that uses walking in nature as a laboratory: accessible as a practice, rigorous as a method, applicable as a therapy.

This site holds the research and teaching side of Mindtrek, distinct from the experiential and commercial activity found at mindtrek.it.

Positioning

Most nature-based approaches treat nature as a backdrop — a pleasant setting for practice, as in forest bathing, or a relational third element within a therapeutic dyad, as in ecotherapy. Mindtrek starts from a different position: nature functions as a direct epistemic mirror, a field in which certain mental mechanisms become perceptible through direct engagement, not through symbolic interpretation of the landscape.
